Liz Meyerdrick made a name for herself at Uber as the first director and global head of business development for Uber Eats, and is now turning her attention to women’s health as the new CEO of Uber. Bell Club.
The move comes at a risky time for the remote delivery of health care to women as the Supreme Court has taken steps to limit the provision of sexual health care to women in recent months.
“Women’s health care has never been more tested,” Meyerdirk noted in a blog post announcing her new role. “Covid-19 has changed access to care; dozens of countries have tried – and still are – to limit women’s options. The Pill Club, which is profitable and now has a $ 100 million playback rate, is now ready for a close-up of it with Meyerdirk on its head.
The company has managed to leave its mark in the crowded world of online prescriptions and re-fulfillment by focusing specifically on women’s health and ensuring that these services are available to the largest possible number of potential patients.
“We are now serving hundreds of thousands of women across the country with 20% Medicaid,” says Meyerdirk. “We are half in 43 states and the District of Columbia.”
For Meyerdirk, the background she has gained in logistics and fulfillment since her time at Uber Eats has made the transition to prescription medication and delivery service a natural occurrence.
“There is a heavy logistical component to it,” said Meyerdrick.
As Meyerdirk takes over the reins of the company, she said there are a few areas in which The Pill Club will expand beyond its focus on birth control and contraception. “There are areas that our customers are asking for,” Meyerdirk said.
These areas include, first of all, dermatology. Last year, the company launched a delivery service for contraceptives and feminine hygiene products such as pads and tampons.
As it continues to expand its product portfolio, it is also increasing its number of executives. Not only did the company add Meyerdirk, it also added David Hsu as CFO and Jeremy Downs as Senior Vice President for Growth. Hsu joins the company from Honey, leading $ 4 billion in takeover negotiations with PayPal, and Downs comes from Uber Eats, where he spent five years driving growth.
